1. Objective

In this activity, we will be using a case study approach to explore the core concepts of digital identity, digital footprints, searching, ownership, privacy, and networking.  This will enable you to think more deeply about digital literacy and unpack your assumptions around its complexities.

This activity covers core concepts from C-DELTA Module 1, particularly Unit 2  about digital identities.

2. Learning outcomes

•Explore the concept of digital literacy
•Evaluate personal digital literacy
•Acquire strategies to develop digital literacy of others
•Demonstrate understanding of digital identity and how it can be consciously and sub-consciously developed
•Analyse search strategies
•Question assumptions about the information we find on the internet

3. Investigation

Investigate the Digital Identity (DI) of a Digital Education Leader (DEL)

You could choose the facilitator or a local education or technology identity you are familiar with.

You could also choose any well know DEL.

6. Mapping your findings

Using this diagram as a guide and the headings “personal”, “work”, and “learning”, plot  the evidence you found about the DEL you investigated under these heading.

You could do this on paper, print out the or do it electronically in MS Word .

Save (or take a picture of) your diagram when you are finished.

7. Share your artefact

Now you have completed your investigation and captured the DEL's digital footprint in a diagram, go to the FORUM and upload your artifact. Please also add your output to the Week 1 Uploads so your facilitator can give you feedback.
